Bristol Seafood + Steak + Social

Bristol at the Power & Light District has recently rebranded to Bristol Seafood + Steak + Social. Their Bar Only menu does have different offerings than their dinner menu, but we were there for their Social Hour (bar, patio or lounge only), which has its own specials. We started off with drinks: a Bourbon Basil Smash and a Smoked Old Fashioned. A gentleman came around offering guests these amazing drop biscuits and butter and then we ordered some apps. We kept it around a seafood theme and ordered mini New England lobster rolls, fried calamari, and four oysters that were part of the One Buck Shuck deal. I'm a huge fan of sauces. Two sauces came with the oysters and with the calamari - you must try all of the sauces. Yes, if they put it on the table, you should/must try it. There were definitely some flavor combinations that I hadn't tried before.

Soon it was time for round two of drinks: I Should Be On A Beach Somewhere Punch and Respect Your Elderflower Martini. If you close your eyes for a second while sipping the I Should Be On A Beach Somewhere Punch, you can smell the ocean and hear the steel drums, and for a minute you think you could be on a beach. Even with the rebrand and new menu items, the quality of food and drinks were what I expected of Bristol - delicious. I highly recommend grabbing a seat on the patio. Even with the heat, there are ceiling fans, which keep the temperature down. It was a nice setting to enjoy some cold cocktails and tasty food. For the three apps and four drinks, we were sitting at $51 on the Social Hour menu. If we would have ordered that on the regular menu it would have been $86. It pays to Happy Hour people!
